NEW Oyster Steel Rolex GMT-Master

NEW Oyster Steel Rolex GMT-Master II “Pepsi” on Jubilee bracelet

Retail-$9,700

It’s Official: Rolex has released their NEW collection to the world for Baselworld 2018. Let’s focus specifically on the NEW Oyster Steel Rolex GMT-Master II “Pepsi” on Jubilee bracelet pictured above. I think the world is thrilled to be finally getting the old blue and red option with a ceramic bezel version in stainless steel. This definitely has been a highly anticipated release for Rolex and their collectors worldwide for many years. It’s nice to finally see it so some people will finally shut up! I like it but I am not thrilled that it’s fitted on a jubilee bracelet. When you think of the blue and red GMT you automatically think oyster bracelet.  The Oyster bracelet is currently fitted on the white gold version which retails for around 40k! I also see that the dial on the white gold version has been switched to a NEW blue to differentiate it from the new Oyster steel version pictured above with black dial. The nice part of this watch is that it retails for $9,700. It still expensive for a steel watch but Rolex knows how to make you want it and buy it while making it hold its value, so it’s hard to argue.

One would think that since this 40mm stainless steel case must be the same or similar on this NEW GMT II as the other steel GMT”s, purchasing a second oyster bracelet in steel would be an option, right?  Unfortunately, since the case of this watch is different from the current GMT-II models, the jubilee bracelet is the only option on this watch.  As opposed to the oyster bracelets on the Datejust models this NEW jubilee bracelet will have a folding oysterlock safety clasp like on the oyster bracelet.

Unlike the other two stainless steel GMT II models, this new version is fitted with a NEW 3285 movement. According to Rolex, this is a new-generation movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. With 10 patent applications filed over the course of its development, this movement features a Chronergy escapement and a guaranteed power reserve of approximately 70 hours. Like all Rolex Perpetual movements, the 3285 is a certified Swiss chronometer, a designation reserved for high-precision watches that have successfully passed the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) tests. The 3285 is equipped with a Parachrom hairspring, offering greater resistance to shocks and to temperature variations. Its architecture, in common with all Oyster watch movements, makes it singularly reliable.

I am sure this watch will be impossible to get from day one but I have the right relationships. Please contact me HERE to help you find one.
