Montblanc released the 1858 Minerva Chronograph “The Unveiled” at Watches & Wonders 2024
A Fusion of Heritage and Innovation
Montblanc revealed its latest horological creation, the 1858 Minerva Chronograph “The Unveiled”, a testament to the brand’s rich legacy and innovative prowess. This limited edition of just 100 pieces stands as a beacon of craftsmanship, blending traditional watchmaking with contemporary design and technology.
Exquisite Design Details
The watch boasts a 43mm x 14.7mm stainless steel case, adorned with sapphire openings on the middle, showcasing satinated and polished finishing. A domed box-shaped, AR-coated sapphire crystal enhances visibility, while the 18kt white gold fixed fluted bezel adds a touch of elegance. Water-resistant up to 30 meters, this timepiece is engineered for durability and style. The caseback features a special engraving from the historic Minerva Manufacture, paired with a fluted stainless steel crown embossed with the Montblanc emblem.
Precision Movement
At the heart of “The Unveiled” is the Swiss manual-wind Montblanc by Minerva in-house caliber MB M17.26. This movement, with 26 jewels and an 18,000 vph, offers a 50-hour power reserve. The skeletonized monopusher chronograph is a marvel of engineering, featuring a reversed movement that allows a glimpse into the regulating organ, going-train, bridges, and plate via the watch dial. Certified by the Montblanc Laboratory Test 500H, it embodies reliability and precision.
Dial and Strap: A Symphony in Design
The sapphire dial, illuminated by SuperLuminova Arabic numerals and indices, carries the historical Montblanc logo. Rhodium-coated hands ensure time is always legible, complemented by a chronograph minute hand with a blue arrow and a blue-coated chronograph seconds hand. This masterpiece is completed with a blue interchangeable Sfumato calf leather strap, featuring an alligator print and a stainless steel triple-folding clasp, marrying comfort with luxury. This is the perfect balance of color, contrast and technical mastery.
At the end of the day…
At the end of the day, with its limited availability, exquisite craftsmanship, and innovative design, it’s destined to become a coveted piece in any collection, marking a new chapter in Montblanc’s horological journey.
Due to the unpredictable and volatile market on certain Rolex, Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet watches, prices are subject to change.
