Introducing the Czapek Antarctique Flying Tourbillon: Where Art Meets Mechanics

When tradition meets innovation, something extraordinary is born. The new Czapek Antarctique Flying Tourbillon is a modern tribute to mechanical purity, technical brilliance, and aesthetic mastery. This timepiece isn’t just built to impress—it’s built to inspire.

Caliber 9: Designed for Mechanical Harmony

At the heart of this watch is the in-house Caliber 9, engineered for both performance and beauty. Czapek’s concept was simple: showcase the tourbillon, gear train, and barrel clearly on the dial side in one vertical line. The flying tourbillon appears to float effortlessly, suspended between the baseplate and the dial, directly linked to the gear train beneath a sweeping, curved minutes bridge. Above it all, the barrel is framed by an open-worked bridge, creating symmetry and depth. The result is a movement that feels as architectural as it is elegant.

The watch runs on a micro-rotor made from recycled platinum, placed strategically to keep the movement slim and efficient. It winds automatically with your wrist motion while preserving a full view of the beautifully arranged gear train.

Singularité Guilloché: Depth Through Motion

Adding even more intrigue is the “Singularité” guilloché pattern—named after the astronomical phenomenon where space and time break down. This pattern isn’t just visually stunning; it’s a technical challenge. Traditional guilloché begins from a fixed point, but Singularité shifts with every cut, creating dynamic textures that change with the light. It’s a subtle reminder of the watch’s cosmic inspiration and Czapek’s commitment to craftsmanship.

Curved Case, Limitless Transparency

To match the fluid mechanics of the movement, the case itself has been completely reimagined. Inspired by the Antarctique Rattrapante, it uses a curved glass box construction, with raised sapphire crystals on both sides. From the back, the design almost eliminates the appearance of a bezel. Instead, the engravings are metallized directly into the inner surface of the crystal in reverse, so they appear upright from the outside. This creates a sense of openness and seamless continuity between the case and movement.

It’s available in three distinct dial variations: Secret Alloy (limited to 50 pieces), Glacier Blue, and Proton Sphere. Each model is priced at 63,000 CHF (approximately $71,300 at the time of writing).

Wrist Comfort Meets Practical Design

The Antarctique Flying Tourbillon isn’t just beautiful—it’s engineered for comfort and daily wear. The integrated bracelet features brushed links that form polished “C” shapes, a nod to Czapek’s name. It also includes a discreet micro-adjustment system, allowing you to fine-tune the fit without tools. The quick-release system adds even more versatility, letting you switch easily between metal, rubber, or leather straps in seconds.

Perfectly Proportioned at 40.5mm

With a diameter of 40.5mm, this timepiece hits the sweet spot between sporty and refined elegance. It wears seamlessly, offering both visual balance and physical comfort.

Despite its complexity, this watch offers 50 meters of water resistance. A screw-down crown protects the movement from moisture, dust, and debris. After swimming or exposure to salt or sand, simply rinse it with fresh water to maintain its condition.

A Tourbillon with Purpose

The flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock is more than decorative—it’s a masterpiece of functional engineering. Invented in 1801 to offset gravity’s effects on timekeeping, the tourbillon rotates once per minute in a cage that houses the escapement. In Czapek’s design, it’s not just technically impressive—it’s visually breathtaking.

Due to the unpredictable and volatile market on certain Rolex, Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet watches, prices are subject to change.
