Panerai has been involved with the sport of yacht racing for quite some time now. To celebrate this partnership further, they have released three NEW Flyback chronograph models, PAM00652, PAM00653 and PAM00654.
First we have the Panerai PAM00652- Luminor 1950 PCYC Regatta 3 Days Chrono Flyback Automatic Titanio. This has the iconic 1950 case and is 47mm in case diameter and made out of titanium. This has central chronograph seconds and minute hands. There’s also a chronograph hour counter at three o’clock position and a small seconds register at nine o’clock position. The 15-minute countdown is placed on the dial’s rehaut, between nine and twelve o’clock position. This watch will retail for $17,200.
The other two models pictured above are similar to the first one but are made out of stainless steel and are 44 mm in case diameter. These are known as Panerai PAM00653 and Panerai PAM00654- Luminor 1950 PCYC 3 Days Chrono Flyback Automatic Acciai. The Panerai PAM00653 has a traditional black Arabic Panerai dial while the PAM00654 has an ivory colored SLC dial with contrasting gold hands and indices and steel blued accents as well. These watches have exactly the same case and movement and perform the same functions. However they look completely different from one another.
They are both are powered by Panerai’s in-house, self-winding, three-day movement, the caliber P.9100. Also their tachymeters are based on a knot scale. Both watches will retail for $12,300.
All three timepieces will have this unique yachting themed caseback. In my opinion they are well excited and handsome but are very expensive for what they are. At the end of the day no matter what functions these watches perform, they are still made out of titanium and steel.
