The A Lange & Sohne 1815 is one of my favorite watches because of its timeless simplicity and elegance. This SIHH 2017 A Lange & Sohne released a watch that is equally good to look at as it is useful in the NEW 1815 Annual Calendar.
This watch has all 12 Arabic numerals in black set on a sold silver, argent dial where the 3,6 and 9 are slightly cut off by the three subdials. It’s available in 18k pink and 18k white gold. The size is 40mm is comprises of 345 individual movement parts. The functions include; hours, minutes, sub seconds with stop seconds; annual calendar with analog date, day, month; moon phase display.
It has a crown for winding the watch and setting the time at the three o’clock position while it has a button at the two o’clock position for quick collective calendar corrections and recessed push pieces for separately advancing the date, day, month and moonphase complications. The subdial at the 3 o’clock position is for the month, where the subdial at the 6 o’clock is for the moon phase and sub seconds while the subdial at the 9 o’clock is for the date and day of the week. This is powered by the Lange manufacture L051.3 movement with 70 hour power reserve which can be seen through the sapphire crystal exhibition back. The time indication on both watches are steel blued, while the calendar complication are in rhodium gold for the white gold version and pink gold for the pink gold version. The white gold version is fitted on a black alligator strap with a white gold prong buckle while the pink gold version is fitted on a reddish brown alligator strap with a pink gold prong buckle.
Both these watch will retail for 37,500 Euros which is approximately slightly over $39,000. What an amazing piece and I can’t wait to see it live when it’s officially available later in the year!
