Recently, Longines released the Legend Diver 10th Anniversary. This the reissue of a diving watch from 1960. It’s available in three executions on a mesh bracelet, black leather strap with contrasting white stitching and on a rubber strap. This watch combines the old world charm and the coolness of the sixites model and modern day technology. It respects the lines of the vintage one from the sixties with the domed crystal. while giving it the practicality and techical upgrades of today like a bigger 42 mm case, better water resistance of 300 meters (1,000 feet), and better visibility at night with super luminova treatments on the indices, numerals and hands. It also features an internal bidirectional rotating disc which is activated and locked by the crown at 2 o’clock.
It reminds me of a JLC master compressor alarm but without the alarm function. The movement is the the self-winding mechanical movement Calibre L633 (base ETA 2824/2) beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour with an autonomy of 38 hours. A diver is engraved on the screwed back. It’s priced right at under 3k and is a great watch for anyone looking for a legitmate brand with heritage and quality.
