To accomadate the US market, Patek Philippe has released the NEW Limited Edition Pilot’s Calatrava in stainless steel, ref#5522A. ! Just in case you wern’t aware, Patek Philippe doesn’t really make watches in stainless steel. They are best known for making watches in precious metals. When they do make watches in stainless steel, they are highly sought after and can command thousands over retail depending on the model. Back in March 2015, Patek released the Calatrava Pilot Travel Time at Baselworld . You can read my review of that HERE. At that time I wrote how much I wished they had made that watch in stainless steel. I am happy they didn’t because I like this NEW Limited Edition Pilot’s Edition Calatrava even more.
For starters, it’s cleaner, more sophisticated and timeless. It has that minimalist look and can be worn causal with jeans or with a nice blue suit and brown shoes to compliemt the strap. The case is 42 mm and constructed out of stainless steel. It has a sapphire crystal and a sapphire display back engraved “PATEK PHILIPPE NEW YORK 2017.” The blue varnished dial has luminous blued steel hands and Arabics. The Arabic numerals remind me of the Zenith Pilot’s watch dials of the last 10 years. This watch is filled with amazing contrast between the stainless steel case, blue varished dial and steel blued hands. The movement is the 324S which is Patek’s most reliable and pinacle movement that are in some of their Nautilus model watches. I really want one of these! It ticks all the boxes and the best part is it doesn’t have a date, thank God! To me after a while, no matter how complicated or ground breaking, Patek Philippe watches can all start looking the same. This is a really nice addition to the family that stands alone, but NOT for long!
That’s right, the NEW Patek Philppe Limited Edition Pilot’s Calatrava in stainless steel ref#5522A is limited to 600 pieces for the US market and is exclusively available at their boutiques and authorized retailers. Just to be clear, all 600 watches have already been allocated. Patek have 89 US retailers, which roughly works out to almost 7 watches per retailer. But there are some retialers bigger and more powerful than others so it won’t be an even split and these will be incredibly hard to get! The retail will be $21,547 which is considered inexpensive for a Patek. The good NEWS is I can help you get one. Please contact me HERE to get started!
