Bryan Cranston playing LBG in the HBO original movie “All the Way” wearing a gold datejust on jubilee style bracelet LBJ wearing the Rolex Day Date “President”
Two weeks ago I did a podcast called , How did the Rolex “President” get its name? It’ s been well documented that President Lyndon Baines Johnson was the first US President to publicly wear this watch. This is how the Rolex President got it’s name even though its official name by Rolex Is the Day/Date. You can listen to my podcast about it here in case you missed it!
I recently saw the HBO original movie ” All the Way” starring Emmy Award winner Bryan Cranston. This was an amazing movie and Bryan Cranston became LBJ in the movie and should win an award for his performance! What pissed me off was the historical inaccuracy of the watch. In the movie they have Bryan playing LBJ wearing some kind of gold looking watch on a gold style Rolex jubilee bracelet. This watch is supposed to be on a Rolex presidential bracelet which is very different from a jubilee bracelet. You can see what I mean if you compare the two pictures at the top. In the first pic you see Bryan Cranston who plays LBJ in the movie “All the Way” wearing a gold style Rolex on a gold styled Rolex jubilee bracelet. In the second pic you see President Lyndon Johnson wearing the Rolex Day/Date on a Rolex presidential bracelet.
I know you may think what’s the big deal? However, I feel if your going to get the details right than go “All the Way” and get it right! This happens all the time in movies and tv and it gets really annoying to see such inaccuracy’s.
