In 2008, Vacheron Constantin released the Quai De L’ile . This was the first time that the brand released a more modern day design with a modular construction system for the design. This allowed the consumer to custom build their watch with many different options. A truly bespoke approach to the high end luxury watch world of haute horology.
Vacheron Constantin has just released a NEW Quai De L’ile in stainless steel at an amazing price point! These watches are available in two dial options of white and black and will retail for $14,900.
This watch has a central disk date which is indicated by a pointer moving around the date scale on the dial. The case is a cushion shaped 41mm case constructed out of stainless steel. This has a brand NEW in house caliber 510, 30.6 mm by 4.7 mm movement, with a 60-hour power reserve. The winding rotor is made out of Tungsten which is a wink at modernity. As much as the price point and functions suggest this to be an entry level Vacheron, it is Hallmark De Geneva certified.
I think this is great for the brand because it opens up a whole NEW market. It allows the brand to innovate and offer more variations in the future.
