Conor McGregor has become one of the most talked about champions in MMA today. He is the UFC featherweight champion and has solidified him self as an iconic athlete around the world at the age of 27.
Conor was recently on Conan O’Brien before his fight with Nate Diaz (which was subsequently his first UFC loss). On the show he was dressed dapper suited and booted in custom clothing. His watch of choice was the Rolex Yacht-Master II in 18k yellow gold.
I’ll be honest, it wouldn’t be my first watch of choice but somehow it totally worked on Conor’s wrist. He is flamboyant and confident and this watch exudes both those traits. Even though it’s a watch I wouldn’t personally wear. There is no mistaking what it is. It’s honest and in your face like McGregor. Either you like it or you don’t. There are no apologies. Yellow Gold is a flashy metal but Rolex’s gold is super elegant and refined no matter what! This couldn’t have been a more perfect choice watch for the champ to wear.
What was really cool about the interview is how Conan gave Conor Kudos by talking about a tweet that Conor made on Twitter. The Tweet reads, “There’s no talent here, this is hard work. This is an obsession. Talent does not exist. We are all equals as human beings. You could be anyone if you put in the time. You will reach the top, and that’s that. I am not talented, I am obsessed.” Conan not only acknowledged this but mentioned how Lebron James posted and quoted McGregor’s tweet. James added I’m obsessed!! Straight up #StriveForGreatness #AndThatsWhyImNeverSatisfied.
As much as McGregor has been scrutinized for his brashness and arrogance. He is obsessed and determined with the work that he does, can admit defeat and knows that he can improve to be the best at this game all while being in style!
