SIHH will officially commence two weeks from today. We have already seen some amazing pics of some watches from various brands that will debut their newest collections at SIHH 2016. So far I like what I see!
In 2013, Monblanc wowed us when they introduced a perpetual calendar in steel under 20k. This year they have decided to kick it up a notch when they will unveil the Heritage Chronométrie Annual Calendar Chronograph in 18k pink gold for $20,700 and in stainless steel for $10,400 which is just and unbelievable value for what you are getting!
One of the biggest reasons for Montblanc’s success as a watch brand is their leader, CEO, Jerome Lambert who once headed A Lange & Sohne & Jaeger-LeCoultre. He truly understands luxury and watch making. He has brought the strategy of making complicated watches at a high level of finishing at a much more affordable price point. This could only be done with the partnerships Montblanc has with movement companies like Dubois Dupraz. Though it’s not quite clear how this movement has been assembled to achieve this complication it just shows innovation and keeps the consumer in mind for many years to come.
In other amazing news, Davide Cerrato, formerly of the Tudor Watch Company took over as director of Montblanc watches in the middle of December 2015. He totally recessitated Tudor as a serious watch brand that can hold their own for the future !
