Just when we think we have seen all the offerings from Panerai at SIHH 2015, they few more tricks up their sleeve! They recently announced the release of the NEW Panerai PAM00577 Radiomir 1940 3 Days Ceramica – 48mm .
I’ll be honest, I did not discover this on my own. My good client sent the link to me. The Panerai PAM00577 is a 1940’s case, 48 mm and is constructed out of matte black ceramic. This has a specialty black S.L.C dial with functions of hours and minutes. There is a black torpedo above the six o’clock position or pig as it’s referred to by Panerai enthusiasts. This is equipped with the in house 3 Days P.3000 hand wound movement and is fitted on a Calf Ponte Vecchio, Dark brown, Beige, 26.15/22.15 MM Standard strap.
I would have to try on this watch in person but I love the 48 mm size. I am not a fan of the torpedo (pig) above the six o’clock position. Even though it’s done in black and kind of blends in with the dial you can still see it which bugs the crap out of me, but I am picky when it comes to this kind of stuff, so don’t mind me.
I love the symmetry of of the S.L.C dial and how clean, understated and historic it is all at the same time. The black ceramic case is quite stealth, rugged and machined in it’s appearance which offers a utilitarian feel. I am still waiting for more info on this watch like how many pieces are being produced and an exact retail, but from what I was told, this watch will be around 10k and will deliver in the fall. I am also not sure if this is a boutique only piece or if it will be limited but available at boutique’s and Ad’s but please stay tuned for more info!
