Last week, Breguet celebrated the opening of their first specialty salon with retail partner Neiman Marcus in Atlanta.
Breguet brand manager, Mike Nelson welcomed guests at a VIP cocktail reception to view and embrace the new Breguet collection that was released at Baselworld 2015.
On hand was the critically-acclaimed Tradition Independent Chronograph 7077 boasting the only chronograph in a timepiece designed to operate autonomously from the movement; the Breguet Chronométrie 7727, winner of the highest prize of “Aiguille d’Or” at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève; and an expansive extension of the iconic Reine de Naples collection for ladies, ranging from steel, to gold, to high jewelry with diamonds and rubies. ‘
Guest were not only included to view the amazing NEW collection but also the craftmanship that Breguet is known for producing with a demonstration presented on a newly crafted Breguet Watchmaker’s Bench. Flown in from the Breguet Manufacture in Switzerland in time for this event, the bench is modeled after the original watchmaker’s desk used by Abraham-Louis Breguet (1747-1823) at his famed workshop in Paris, France, dating back to 1775. This particular desk is exceptional as it is made of wood from the favorite oak tree of Queen Marie-Antoinette, one of Breguet’s most famous clients, from the grounds of the Petit Trianon at Chateau de Versailles, France. Inlaid with “tourbillon” marquetry, the bench holds a sentimental and symbolic link to the heritage of the brand. A similar watchmaker’s bench can be seen on display at the prestigious Musée des Arts et Métiers in Paris, as well as in Breguet Boutiques worldwide.
