One thing that I have always respect about Panerai Boutque’s is their use of a very small space. They don’t have an ego and need to biggest of most elaborate, but they take advantage of every inch they are given. The only thing I don’t like that this creates is a very sterile or clinical feeling environment. They have some of the best, most educated and friendly Boutique Managers and staff, but the space being minimalist can sometimes feel impersonal and not inviting.
I am happy to report, that the new Panerai re-opened their Madison Ave. Boutique in NYC with a whole new concept.
Acclaimed Spanish Architect, Patricia Urquiola, has totally reinvented this iconic boutique space by expanding to an area of 63 square metres on a single floor and it has two large display windows looking onto Madison Avenue.
The concept and the materials perfectly respect the philosophy and the history of Officine Panerai: there are clear references both to its Florentine origins and to the world of the sea arising from its historic role of supplying precision instruments to the special forces of the Italian Navy between the 1930s and the 1950s.
The boutique is therefore sophisticated, contemporary and elegant, but at the same time it is welcoming; as well as admiring the technical beauty of Panerai watches, clients can also relax in an intimate, luxurious atmosphere.
If you happen to be in NYC and admire Panerai as much as me, they are located on 703 Madison AvenueNew York, NY and you can call them at Tel: 212-319-1245
