Hey watch Fans,
It’s about that time again and Baselworld 2015 is just around the corner. The question on everyone’s mind in the watch world is “what will Rolex release at Baselworld this year”? You may remember last year I published Frank Geelan, publisher of the popular watch blog Monochrome predictions for what Rolex would release at Baselworld 2014. Out of the 5 watches that he predicted he was right about 3 of them, sort of. In case you missed it, you can read those predictions here.
These images below are NOT official Rolex images and come from the Monochrome website. Without further a due, these are his predictions of what Rolex will release for Baselworld 2015 according to Monochrome.
Even though it wasn’t released last year, Monochrome has predicted that we may see this watch again this year and I really think it’s time Rolex released it. The stainless steel Daytona with black ceramic bezel and panda dial. I think Rolex fans want to see a vintage inspired Daytona in stainless steel. The difference in this years rendering of his prediction is that the subdials would not be blackened out all the way and which actually looks more official this way. Fingers crossed this would be absolutely amazing!
The Rolex Daytona with in 18k Everose on a bracelet has been incredibly successful and has been very versatile for men and women to wear and enjoy. For this years predictions Monochrome shows us this watch with a black ceramic bezel which makes it more masculine. I think this is just what is needed on this model for men to enjoy because it makes it sportier.
My favorite out of all the predictions Monochrome has made this year is the possible release out of a ceramic black and red ceramic bezel GMT-Master II in steel. Last year he predicted this would be released in blue/red ceramic bezel in steel but Rolex released it in white gold. We know the technology is there and if it was released in steel, I must have this watch!
This last prediction is my least favorite of the four watches. The Steel & Gold GMT-Master II with rootbeer bezel and dial and steel & gold oyster bracelet. Do we really need to see this in the current Rolex Collection? I mean come on! The orginal was not that great but somehow has a cult following for a steel and gold Rolex.
To read it straight from the monochrome website in his words, click here. I have a great feeling about this year for Rolex at Baselworld 2015. I think we could see all of these or at least two of these watches this year.
