As the 200th anniversary of A Lange & Sohne’s founder, Ferdinand Adolf Lange comes to a close, we get another masterpiece from the brand! TO ring out this momentous occasion, A Lange & Sohne has released the 1815 Tourbillon Handwerkskunst.This is a limited edition of just 30 pieces for the world. This is is the first Lange watch that combines a stop-seconds device for the tourbillon and the Zero-Reset mechanism. Handwerkskunst, the German word for “artisanship”, is an attribute of distinction that A. Lange & Söhne has been using since 2011 to identify special limited-edition watches whose dials and movements are endowed with rare finissage and engraving techniques.
This watch is constructed out of 18k rose gold and is 39.5mm in case diameter. The Movement is the German hand-wind Lange in-house caliber L102.1, with 21 jewels, includiong one diamond endstone and 5 screwed gold chatons, 21,600 vph and a power reserve of 72 hours. It is decorated and assembled by hand; precision-adjusted to five positions; plates and bridges made of untreated German silver; three-quarter plate with granular surface and hand-engraved inscriptions; seconds bridge engraved by hand.
It features a lever escapement, a shock-resistant screw balance, and a balance spring manufactured in-house. Functions are: hours, minutes, and subsidiary seconds; one-minute tourbillon with patented stop seconds and patented Zero-Reset mechanism.
The dial is a striking rose gold, black rhodiumed; with tremblage engraving. Hours and minutes hands in rose gold; seconds in blued steel.
