This SIHH 2015 Audemars Piguet released the Royal Oak Offshore Diver. Generally speaking AP is not my favorite brand, but i have grown to respect its heritage, exclusivity and iconic design. I must saw though I do like the NEW Royal Oak Offshore diver because of its simplicity and clean aesthetic.
I wish the size was bigger, but those of you who regular frequent this blog already know that. The case is constructed out of brushed stainless steel and is 42 mm in case diameter. It’s available in two different variations of black dial and silver dial with with Méga Tapisserie pattern, white gold applied hour-markers and Royal Oak hands with luminescent coating (black minutes hand), black or silver-toned rotating inner bezel with diving scale and zone from 60 to 15 minutes in lack.
Most AP Royal Oak Offshore watches have solid case backs . This has an open case back where the in house self- winding movement is exposed and beautifully finished. The watch is water resistant to 300 meters (1,000 feet). Both watches are fitted on a black rubber strap with a stainless steel pin buckle.
I am sure this watch will do very well. It’s a very simple and function three handed watch. The date bums me out but I guess you can’t have everything. AP has taken control in the last few years of their distribution, price and product.
