De Bethune is hands down my favorite of the exotic independent watch brands. They are super futuristic, well laid out and extremely well made to the highest standards of Swiss watch making.
De Bethune recently released a limited annual production of 20 pieces for the world, DB28 Maxichrono. This watch is absolutely fantastic. For something that could be laid out in a very crowded and complicated way, this watch dial is concise, clean and to the point.
The functions include: hours, minutes, and chronograph with 24-hour, 60-minute and 60-second counters. This case is 45 mm in size and made out of 18k rose gold while the floating lugs are constructed out of mirrored and polished black zirconium. The contrast is complimentary and provides and amazing aesthetic between tradition more conservative rose gold and modern with black zirconium for the floating lugs.
The dial has much depth and is made on different levels. From the center to the periphery: central hours counter hours inner ring minutes ring and minutes counter outer ring with chronograph seconds indication. All hands are hand-polished with blackened steel for the hours and minutes hands and flame-blued steel for hours and seconds chronograph indicators minutes chronograph indicator in rose gold. The movement is the Swiss manual-wind De Bethuen in-house caliber DB2030 with rose gold and hand-polished steel bridges and a power reserve of 5 days. The watch is fitted on a black alligator leather strap with a rose gold pin buckle
