Yesterday, April 28, 2014, Rob Reiner was the recipient of the 41st Annual Chaplin Award in NYC. Jaeger-LeCoultre and The Film Society of Lincoln Center were on hand to honor Rob Reiner.
Carmen Chaplin, the grand daughter of Charlie Chaplin was also in attendance to commemorate and pay tribute to her late grandfather who made such an incredible impression on history.
The Chaplin Award was presented to Rob Reiner by legendary Director, Martin Scorsese, while a movie and interview clips played in the background during the presentation.
To show support of Rob Reiner’s brilliant career as a director, producer, actor, and political activist, noteable guests including : Billy Crystal, Michael Douglas, Michael McKean, Meg Ryan and others enjoyed the celebration.
Prior to the Chaplin Award Gala, a unique photographic exhibition “Chaplin Forever!” will be on display at the Film Society of Lincoln Center from April 25th to May 4th, 2014,
retracing the most famous moments of the beloved actor and producer. On April 24th, the exhibition is going to be inaugurated in the presence of Carmen Chaplin
who will screen her two short movies “A Time For Everything” and “The Innovators”.
Jaeger-LeCoultre plays a historic role in the evening as 60 years ago, Canton de Vaud presented Sir Charles Chaplin with a Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox as a welcome gift to Switzerland. This watch was passed down to Charlie Chaplin’s son Michael John Chaplin and today is still worn by Charlie Chaplin’s descendants.
