I know it probably sounds strange, but I watched the Oscars purely to see what kind of watches that Hollywood’s A-List were wearing.
I usually have a good eye and know exactly what watches people are wearing on their wrists, but even I sometimes am caught off guard.
I know that Bradley Cooper is known for wearing IWC, so I immediately thought that he was wearing an IWC Portuguese 7 Day because I only got a glimpse of the case and dial.
To my surprise, Bradley Cooper was actually wearing the Chopard L.U.C 1937 classic in stainless steel. This watch has a very similar profile to the IWC 7 Day Portuguese with a silver dial in stainless steel.
This is a great classic watch that can be worn in any situation. It’s clean, bold, refined and proportionate to the wrist. The 42mm case is made out of stainless steel, has a silver/white dial with black roman numerals, a sweep seconds hand, a date at the six o’clock, a self-winding mechanical movement which is chronometer certified and holds a sixty hour power reserve, has a sapphire crystal front and back and is fitted on a black crocodile strap with stainless steel pin buckle. In my mind, this watch is a little pricey at almost $9,000 for a three handed watch with a date in steel, but it’s still well made, has a great name with a timeless aesthetic.
