Legibility is the most vital necessity on the instrument panels in the cockpits of airplanes to ensure accuracy and safety when in flight. The two colors that are prevalent to perform this necessary function are matte black for its antirefelctive properties and white for its extreme contrast and visibility.
Orange is also an equally important color for delivering essential information. This color has also made it’s way in Bell & Ross watches over the years as part of its icon.
For this Basel 2014, Bell & Ross have decided to release the new Carbon Orange Limited Edition. This watch is 42mm in diameter and is made out of stainless steel and is black PVD coated. The functions of this watch are : time, dual registered chronograph at the nine and three o’clock poistion, date between the four and five o’clock postion and the watch is limited to 500 pieces for the world.
What makes this watch unique is that the chronograph pusher at the two o’clock position is orange made out of steel with a polycarbonate -abs protective cover, giving it that subtle yet important pop of color distinguishing it from any other Bell & Ross Instrument watch out there today.
The other hints of orange contrasting from the matte black dial with white numbers and black PVD case, include the long chronograph reset hand, the abbreviation for limited (ltd.) located between the seven and eight o’clock indices and the chronograph subdial hand at the nine o’clock position and the orange canvas strap.
