The Tudor Black Bay has gone on to be their best selling watch in the whole collection. I mean how can you go wrong with a watch that’s well made, well styled, historic, part of the Rolex family and retails for $3,100 on a distressed brown leather strap and $3,425 on a stainless steel bracelet, I have said this many times and I stick by it, I think the Tudor Black Bay is the best pure valued watch in the entire watch industry.
For this Basel 2014, Tudor have decided to release the Black Bay in stainless steel in midnight blue. This new version will be like the current version except it will have a midnight blue aluminum bezel a black dial on a midnight blue distressed leather strap for the same price as the current version of $3,100 or a stainless steel bracelet for $3,425.
I am generally not a fan of blue watches, but this is absolutely awesome! It has a vintage Tudor Submariner look from the seventies combined with modern-day construction. Like the current version, the 41 mm stainless steel case has a polished and satin finish, snowflake hands, uni-directional steel bezel with midnight blue aluminum disc insert, self-winding 2824 movement with 38 hour power reserve, sapphire scratch resistant crystal and 200 meters water resistant. Both strap and bracelet versions come with an additional blue/black woven nylon strap.
This is only the first introduction from Tudor for Basel 2014 and I am already pretty happy with what I see, I can’t wait to see the rest. Stay Tuned!
