Back in October of 2013, I wrote an article about how Independent watchmaker, F.P. Journe celebrated the 30th anniversary of his exception watch Tourbillion by releasing 99 copies in a wrist watch which you can read about here.
This year, it was just announced that F.P Journe will be celebrating the 10 years anniversary Tourbillion with a 10 piece limited edition watch in Platinum. This very auspicious occasion is marked by the 10 year anniversary of F.P Journes first Boutique in Tokyo as well as the newest and tenth boutique in Beirut, Lebanon.
To make the release of this 10 piece limited edition special, Mr Journe added “Our ten Boutiques have each proposed us candidates among our faithful collectors. Their name will be randomly selected by draw during our annual fair in January 2014. “
This Anniversary Tourbillon in Platinum celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the First F.P. Journe Boutique presents an identical movement to the original Tourbillon of 1983 which I wrote about in the previous article, but manufactured in 18kt rose gold and visible through the sapphire display back. The dial in grained silver with blackened hour display, even rarer than the dial of the Black Label edition reserved for the Boutique, is maintained by a screwed steel polished circle. The hours are indicated by the classic Breguet hands.
