I always get asked. “what are the best watches for under 5k?” Normally, I can just spit out my favorites in seconds, but I had to think about this a little bit because I normally talk about watches much more expensive.
After much pondering, here is my list in no particular order
1.Tudor Heritage Ranger- retail $2,825
2.Tudor Heritage Black Bay– retail $3,100
3.IWC Mark XVII- retail $4,900
4.Cartier Ronde Solo XL – retail $2,750
5.Nomos Glashutte Orion 38 mm– retail $2,560
6.Nomos Glashutte Tangomat GMT-retail $4,920
7. Kingsley 1945 Flying Ace-retail $1,945
is a brand owned by Rolex. They are made in the same factory and blow away their competition. They make vintage inspired designs that can be had for 3-5k. Those of you who want a piece of the Rolex family and aren’t ready to make that huge financial commitment in buying a Rolex can have it with investing in Tudor.
is by far one of the most recognizable and reputable names in luxury and a benchmark must have in watches. To be able to purchase a watch like the stainless steel Cartier Ronde Solo at under 4k is an incredible bang for the buck!
is one of the most technically understated brands around. They have been making watch since 1868. They have made Pilot’s watches synonymous with their brand identity and the IWC Mark XVII is a testament to value, design quality and history.
is a relatively new German brand to watch making. They make 95% of their movements in Glashutte Germany. Their designs are clean, minimalist & Bauhaus inspired . They have won all sorts of prestigious design & quality awards and keep pushing innovation to the next level. I am amazed at how competitive their price points are. Their CEO Uwe Ahrendt just won Entrepreneur of the Year for 2014 by Ernst & Young, which you can read about here
Kingsley 1945 Watches
is the best value in the entire watch industry in my opinion. They are all hand assembled and designed in Providence Rhode Island by Ramon Kingsley. I am proud to be an official distributor for this brand. They are inspired by World War II air craft gauges. They are all fitted with automatic movements from the World War II era. Due to the fact that these movements can’t be authenticated because of their age and there is no manufacturers stamp on them, these movements will be deemed “vintage inspired” movements from the World War II era.
Please Note: Kingsley 1945 watches will have a price increase after the first of the year for 2015
The bottom line is that all these watches are very unique, somewhat exclusive, very high quality and are incredible values for what you are getting.
