This has been an incredible year for Nomos Glashutte. They have taken a lot of highly esteemed awards in the watch industry for design, innovation, manufaturing and so forth. Now they can add another one to the archives.
The auditing and consultancy firm Ernst & Young has awarded Uwe Ahrendt, chief executive officer of watch manufacturer NOMOS GlashütteUwe Ahrendt, chief executive officer of watch manufacturer NOMOS Glashütte, the title of “Entrepreneur of the Year 2014.”
This is a widely respected prize for the trained toolmaker, engineer, and businessman, who is receiving an award that has in the past been bestowed upon the management of Leica, Faber-Castell, and Sixt.
The jury which is comprised of business experts, were most impressed by Strong, sustainable growth (doubling over the course of only three years). An in house escapement, one of the most complicated parts of a watches movement is a perfect example of this.
The international corporate competition “Entrepreneur of the Year” was started in 1986 by Ernst & Young in the USA and is designed to honor exceptional achievement. From 300 nominated companies, 45 members of company management made it into the German final in five categories this year.
I highly recommend that if you haven’t looked at Nomos Glashutte watches, you should give it a second chance because they are an incredible example of German precision, design, quality and craftmanship at it’s finest at the most competative price points.
