You may remember, last month I wrote about how a rare Rolex Sea Dweller REF. 1665, once belonging to Jacques Cousteau’s son, Philippe Cousteau, was up for auction which you can read about here.
I am happy to report that the official auction results are now in! The original auction estimates for this watch were between $100,000-$150,000. This watch shattered those estimates, fetching a staggering $183,750.
I am always amazed how Rolex continually breaks records at vintage watch auctions! This just further solidifies them as the undisputed King of the watch industry and proves they hold their value if not increases in value better than any other watch brand out there.
