Following the release of the highly successful Omega Dark Side of the Moon watch in 2013, Omega will officially launch the NEW Grey Side of the Moon watch, February 2015 at authorized retailers.
The Omega Grey side of the moon has all the same proportions and fuctions as the Dark Side of the Moon but there are some major differences.
Unlike the Dark Side of the Moon Watch made out of black ceramic, The NEW Omega Grey Side of the Moon watch is made out of grey ceramic. The case is the same size at 44mm in diameter. The dial is made out of sandblasted platinum with platinum subdials at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions for the chronograph counters. The hands are jet black filled with Super Luminova for great contrast and visibility at night.
The movement is the same as the Dark Side of the Moon watch which is the Swiss automatic Omega in-house Co-Axial caliber 9300 with 54 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 60 hours. It is equipped with a Si14 silicon balance spring. The chronograph is a column wheel design. It has two barrels. It features Rhodium plated finishing with exclusive Geneva Waves in arabesque.
The watch is fitted together on a grey leather strap with red stitching on the underside and a platinum buckle .
I like how clean, bold and understated this watch is but at $15,000 it’s a little too rich for my blood!
