This year at SIHH 2014, Richard Mille have decided to create a watch that is the embodiment of their Brand Ambassador and Tennis Super Star Rafael Nadal.
This watch couldn’t be more fitting or complimentary to Richard Mille’s RM 027 family of timepieces and Rafael Nadal. The new Richard Mille RM 35-01 Rafael Nadal has an incredibly tough an unique 49.94 mm case constructed out of NTPT® carbon technology, which was recently developed specifically for Richard Mille.
The depth of this case is multi layered with woven carbon filaments with a thickness of 30 microns, stacked with a change of fiber orientation equaling 45° between every 2 successive layers. This allows for ever case being produced to be visually original as well as extremely hard and impervious to shock trauma or impact.
The RMUL3 caliber movement used in the RM 35-01 is made out of grade 5 titanium and combined with black PVD surface treatment throughout the entire skeletonized movement design, which allows incredible impact resistance. The watch is manual wind displaying hours minutes and seconds with a 55 hour power reserve.
Want to talk about tough? In the competitive challenge the RM 35-01 represents, Richard Mille Watches in Les Breuleux extensively tested the RMUL3 caliber under severe conditions, with extreme shocks applied to the movement exceeding 5000 G’s.
Like Rafael Nadal, The Richard Mille RM 35-01 is the horological twin to a man always prepared to ignore any barriers that life might place on his path to success.
