I have had over twenty years experience in luxury watch retail industry selling Rolex watches. So it’s safe to say I know the brand fairly well. Recently, a friend of mine was asking me my thoughts on the Rolex Oyster Perpetual No-Date 36 mm. My answer was Rolex Doesn’t make an Oyster Perpetual No-Date 36 mm in stainless steel. Clearly, I really thought I knew it all, but it just shows you there is no end to learning. Very quickly, I did some research and Rolex does indeed make an Oyster Perpetual No-Date 36 mm, which is the inspiration for this article.
For a man today, you really can’t buy a decent Rolex Watch for under $6,000. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual No-Date even though not really a hot seller, clearly I didn’t even know it existed, totally fills that price point. The only watch Rolex use to make at 36 mm without a date was the highly coveted Explorer 1, but that was upgraded to a 39 mm size. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual No-Date is available in stainless steel and retails for $5,400.
In my opinion, they need to up the size of this watch like they did with the Explorer 1 to 39 mm and make it available also for under $6,000 because that’s a great price point for Rolex . There are seven different dial options for this watch all with Arabic Numerals and different colored dials. This watch is also certified a chronometer for accuracy. The watch is fitted with an oyster bracelet a domed bezel and sapphire scratch resistant crystal.
Should you want something a little bit more dressy, you can also purchase this model in the same seven different dial options plus a pink dial with Black Roman Numerals with an 18k white gold fluted bezel for $6,650.
