In 2015 Tudor released a one of a kind unique piece for Only Watch Auction known as the Tudor Black Bay One. Not only did this classic re-issued 1950’s iconic timepiece go for more than 100 times its original retail price at 375,000 CHF, but it all went to support Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a great cause!

For this year’s Only Watch Auction, Tudor decided to participate with something much more bold and Black Ops with the BLACK BAY CERAMIC ONE. Like the Original Black Bay One from 2015, this will be a one of a kind unique piece.

My first initial reaction was that it really looks like an all-black Rolex watch, specifically an all-black Explorer 2. Tudor is known for reinterpreting their past so it’s nice to see something a little different. This model in my humble opinion is their way of moving into the future with something more modern looking like this watch.

Due to its masculine more rugged look, I would have thought it would be fitted on their signature black rubber strap or trademark hand-woven nylon strap. Tudor picked a black alligator strap with rubber hybrid for this watch instead. Meaning the front of the strap is an alligator and the back is rubber lined, the best of both worlds! The suggested retail on a watch like this is between $4,500-5,500 USD. This is a mere fraction of what it will command at auction I am sure! If I ever wanted an all-black watch this would be it.
