The H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic Funky Blue 2.0: A Blend of History and Futuristic Horology
An unmistakable combination of classic design and modern innovation, the H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic Funky Blue 2.0 represents the evolution of a legend in the horological world. This timepiece, an upgrade of the acclaimed first two chronographs by H. Moser & Cie, masterfully blends traditional watchmaking art with futuristic design elements, establishing a bridge between past, present, and future.
Following its celebrated tradition, H. Moser & Cie has incorporated its distinctive transparent lacquer logo on the Funky Blue dial in this updated version. This unique signature, first seen on the Pioneer Mega Cool model, further enhances the exclusive appeal of the Streamliner.
Adding to the evolution of this award-winning chronograph, the movement boasts contemporary finishes with an anthracite grey rhodium-plating on the bridges and main plate, reflecting the spirit embodied in the Streamliner Perpetual Calendar caliber. This feature adds an avant-garde twist to the watch’s aesthetics, displaying the Schaffhausen-based manufacture’s commitment to both tradition and modernity.
The Streamliner line, as its name implies, is a streamlined concentration of the essential functions of a timepiece, making it a splendid example of functional design. As Edouard Meylan, CEO of H. Moser & Cie., explains, “The Streamliner draws a connection between our history, which dates back almost 200 years, and a very promising future.” This reflects the brand’s notable growth since its acquisition in 2012, increasing annual production fivefold, eightfold turnover, and exceeding average Swiss watch company profitability.
Encased in stainless steel measuring 42.3mm x 14.2mm, the Streamliner 2.0 is designed with a slightly domed sapphire crystal and a sapphire display back. The positioning of the chronograph push-buttons at 10 and 2 o’clock, along with a screw-down crown at 4 o’clock adorned with an engraved “M”, adds a unique charm to this watch. A significant feature is its dynamic water resistance up to 120 meters, which unusually allows the usage of the chronograph and flyback function underwater.
The heart of the Streamliner 2.0 is the Swiss automatic H. Moser caliber HMC 907, developed in collaboration with AGENHOR. This movement, with its 55 jewels, operates at 21,600 vph and offers a power reserve of 3 days. Unique features include a Tungsten rotor positioned between the movement and the dial, bi-directional winding, and a column wheel chronograph with a horizontal clutch with a friction wheel. The finishing touches of anthracite grey rhodium-plating on the bridges and main plate and Moser stripes angled at forty-five degrees contribute to the watch’s striking aesthetics.
The Streamliner 2.0 adorns a Funky Blue fumé dial with a sunburst pattern, adding an element of elegance to its design. The hour and minute hands with Globolight inserts, a minute track for the elapsed seconds and minutes, and a tachymeter on the flange complete the dial aesthetics.
The integrated steel bracelet, paired with a folding clasp engraved with the Moser logo, ensures the watch sits comfortably on the wrist, complementing its elegant aesthetics.
The NEW H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic Funky Blue 2.0 is a masterclass in horological innovation, effortlessly combining heritage with modern design elements. This refined, functional, and future-forward time
